Summer's Not Over Yet

Summer's Not Over Yet

As the weather drops from 105-degrees to 85-degrees here in Austin, we are all still holding onto our summer wardrobes, but majorly itching for fall to arrive. This doily inspired lace crop top from Threads 4 Thought makes a great transitional fashion piece. Throw it on over a swim suit today, and pair with high waisted denim as the temperature continues to drop. Add a little cardigan and you get to carry a little piece of summer sunshine with you into the cool(er) fall nights.

I think that's what I'm ready for most with fall waiting around the corner.....fall nights with cozy campfires and backyard s'mores. Isn't that just one of the best smells in the world?! Oh, and switching from cool white to warming red wine ;)

And jeans, I miss jeans! I have been living in my Big Star Alex shorts, but I am ready to mix up the denim styling. The lightweight, eco-friendly Kate jeans from Big Star are tolerable in the heat, and cozy enough for campfire cuddles. Straight leg fit offers a little more wiggle room than a skinny, and the cuffed bottom can be adjusted to your pleasing. I can't wait to pair mine with little booties this fall, but I've been rocking them with the red Melissa + Jason Wu flats. They're pretty adorable with the blue here too!

It's been 5 years since I left PA for the Texas sun, and every fall I do miss the mountains, and the foliage, and the cornfields, and hayrides, and such. But I also really enjoy getting to wear tank tops and crop tops well into November. :)

So get outside, enjoy the hell out of this last month of summer, look hot, and stay cool. Soak up some end of summer rays, but don't forget your sustainable sunglasses!
